Take IH 35 to Temple you will continue on to the CAMERON exit which is  State Hwy 36 or US Hwy 190 (they are the same)  Continue east toward Cameron and when you pass the little town of Buckholts you will go approx. 3mi to the Pettibone community and turn right onto  FM 486.  Go south on 486 approx 11mi and if you prefer to go the shortest way take County Road 428 to your left for a couple of miles and you are there when you cross the old Iron Bridge.  If you like to take the High road then don’t take the CR 428 rd. but continue on you will come into the community of San Gabriel.  Continue on 486 through SG and go approx 2 miles.  You will come to FM 908 to your left.  The sign will say Rockdale.  Apache Pass is on your left 3 miles east on 908. 

 The drive from IH 35 in Temple  to Apache Pass is approx. 35 miles or 35 minutes @ 60 mph. Typically, there is very light traffic from Temple to A.P.
